Are you logging on My Fitness Pal or similar?
Are you accurately weighing, portioning and logging?
Are you checking the calories are accurate?

I once happily logged an item on My Fitness Pal, some times I ate 2 because they were only 80 calories, turns out whoever had added the figures to the app had done them incorrectly and they were actually 320 calories EACH!
The only time I never lost a thing was when I logged exercise and it gave me the exercise calories to eat back, best not to log exercise as it over estimates and you end up eating over your calories used.

Work out your tdee here (maintenance cals) then reduce by 20% to get you weight loss calorie target to make sure you are aiming for the right amount of calories.

Although don’t be too disheartened. The initial loss is mostly water, and weight loss can vary week to week. Consistency is key, time of the month, eating saltier food the day before so retaining water etc can all affect the scales.

Thank you yes im logging everything mfp has gave me 1310 cals a day to lose weight I never go over oh thats not good if the calories aren't actually accurate ill need to double check that .

This happened to me. I didn’t loose anything in week 2 and 3, but went on to loose more than 2 stone in the end, without making any changes to what I was doing. So just keep doing what you’re doing and I’m sure the weight will start coming off again.

Babyg1995 · 03/05/2021 18:04

Thank you thats given me the motivation to stick to it a big part of my weight gain was baby no 3 then wine and snacks on the weekends I've completely cut out alcohol and snacking as well just a bit frustrating to not see the scale move thinking of only weighing once a month .

Yes Im on week 2 of no weight loss 🥺

Crazzzycat · 03/05/2021 19:34

@Babyg1995, I think there’s a lot to be said for only weighing once a month. That’s pretty much what I’m doing, as all those tiny fluctuations were just doing my head in! Sometimes I weigh during the month, but I don’t allow myself to get too down (or too excited!) about whatever number is on the scale at that point. It could be quite different a few days later!

Also, I recommend taking some measurements, particularly of your waist. Sometimes the scales barely budge, but the tape measure will show a change, or vice versa. Weightloss is complicated!

It really is isnt it we will get there in the end Smile

Im in a similar position ladies. Im wondering if its plateau, Im not sure how it works but its left me feeling despair too and giving up.

Sweetener12 · 11/05/2021 11:32

I think it's plateau and your body needs some time to adapt. That's pretty normal, you just have to stay on track. It may be unsettling but don't give up! Here is a good article about breaking through the plateau- www.healthline.com/nutrition/weight-loss-plateau
But most importantly, these are the times when you need to focus on motivation. You can edit your picture so that you'd look like you want to (use Photoshop or there are plenty of photo editors to make you look thin, like Photoworks) or write motivational phrases on stickers and put them everywhere in your place, etc. Just don't give up and it'll pay off!

@Sweetener12

thank you
