Best Diet Cook Book

I'm currently alternating between The Hairy Dieters ( the first one) and Fast 800. These are my go to cook books however I'm becoming a bit bored with the recipes.

I've looked at Fast 800 Easy and the Pinch of Nom books and am not inspired by either of them. Are the 2nd and 3rd Hairy Dieters book with buying? Or there other gems out there I haven't discovers yet.

If you liked Hairy Dieters 1 I think you'd like 2 and 3 as well. I really rate all three and have lost almost three stone using them. I wouldn't bother with their Fast Food one though, I thought that one was a bit crap.

Thank you for those recommendations @TinDogTavern and a massive well done on the weight loss.

I am thinking of buying them. Are the recipes food?

mermaidsariel · 08/04/2021 18:26

Good

TinDogTavern · 08/04/2021 18:43

I hope they're food, I've been eating them! Grin

I really rate them. They've taken regular recipes and made them low fat - loads of books try that and say "it tastes like the real thing!" and in my experience they bloody don't!

But these really do! I genuinely think it's changed the way I cook forever.

mermaidsariel · 08/04/2021 19:19

Which is the best book?

Peachypips78 · 08/04/2021 19:28

I was just coming on to say The Hairy Dieters! I have the first two and they are, as you say, my 'go-to' books. I'd like the third too. Second is different enough to the first and I use it just as much.

Heard good things about Pinch of Nom, but I hate the name so much I can't bear to buy it!!!

Peachypips78 · 08/04/2021 19:29

@mermaidsariel I think I like the first best. But they are all worth buying.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 09/04/2021 09:00

Pinch of nom is weird. It's so slimming world, weird mash ups of things/cuisines to be free food.

schmalex · 09/04/2021 09:37

I really like Joe Wicks' recipe books (there are a few - Lean in 15, etc).

This probably sounds harsh, but I never understand why Pinch of Nom is sold as a diet/healthy eating book when the authors are so large.

Thecatisboss · 09/04/2021 09:47

Love the Hairy Dieters books. I've lost 3 stone using them the low fat chicken tikka masala is fabulous and fish with greens and loads of others. I also like the vegetarian cookbook and mushroom stew (but the courgette and turkey mince burger was vile!)

FriteFuaite · 09/04/2021 09:52

I really like the Two Chubby Cubs, recipes are simple and really tasty, too.The new book is great!

I also love the SW green book, I think it is. Lots of great ideas for soups, too.

mermaidsariel · 09/04/2021 10:42

I’m finding it really hard to know which is book one. Could someone send me a link please?

mermaidsariel · 09/04/2021 17:23

Thank you!
