Things like sausage rolls, scotch eggs, a bit of cheese and pickle etc? Just nibbles? It's not healthy or nutritional granted, but... for weight loss alone?

You can eat nothing but Mars bars and lose weight as long as you don't eat too many.

Thanks guys I'll go to the supermarket tomorrow and stock up on proper things, if I'm only eating for fuel rather than pleasure I might as well eat better

Buy some treats too, it’s not all or nothing

IMO 80% healthy stuff + 20% junk/sweet stuff/treats is long term sustainable (and therefor better than an all or nothing approach)

Hope your stress subsided soon

Buy a tin of humour on me Wink

I've been losing weight steadily without much effort.

Breakfast is either porridge or Weetabix.

Maybe a banana or apple mid morning.

Lunch is usually a two egg omelette filled with wilted spinach, mushrooms, red onion and tomato. Maybe some cheese if I'm feeling fancy. Cucumber and radishes on the side. Sometimes I'll have home made soup or beans on toast

Then a normal dinner. Last night it was nandos spiced chicken in one.of those bag thing (( two skinless thighs )) with new potatoes, mushy peas and mushrooms. Tonight it was beef stew with carrots, mash and broccoli.

The biggest change I've made is to buy a smaller plate. So Instead of having six potatoes I'll have 3. I make sure to fill half my plate with veg and despite being a lazy arse the weight is shifting. When I get a couple more stone off I'll start bringing in more exercise.

It is what I called the misery diet. When I split with my ex and my son was young, I was so unhappy and stressed. I was a newly qualified midwife trying to find my feet, and be a mother with impossible childcare needs. I'd just moved to a new area and had no friends or family.
I regularly ate nothing all day, then just ate shit/takeaway at night as I just couldn't stomach food all day until my body really did need it. I felt sick trying to eat before then.
I lost 4st in 8 months. Kept it off for a bit. But when I was happy, it came off. I lost it again some years later in a healthier way. Still re-gained it though. Now again, I'm trying to lose it in a healthy way. The same 5 sodding stone. Hmm Bastard.

But yes, it really is calories in, calories out.

I meant when I was happy I put it back on BlushGrin

I'm snacking too. Usually a packet of Ringos and small bag of marshmallows or a KitKat.

I've fucked my gallbladder from losing weight too quickly a few years ago. It wasn't even intentional, I just lose it very easily........sadly I put it on easily too 🙄

Yep i lost a large amount of weight a five years back and have kept it off. Anytime its easter or xmas or weight is creeping up i just stick to 800 cals (anytype food)throw in 200 cals of protein powder and go on the multivits, calcium and iron supps..it really is as simple as energy out vs energy in despite what some people would have you believe.

Well I've gone from 11.3 to 10.9 in 5 weeks I discovered today so I guess it is working! Eggs, berries and salad have been purchased today!
