Anyone else on this plan?
I've signed up, seems so complicated!!

Do you mean Team RH? It is a bit of a flaff at the start but you really do get used to tracking everything. I'm never hungry, the opposite usually and nothing is out of bounds. I've lost almost a stone in 8 weeks and I've found it pretty easy and balanced.

ExplodingCarrots · 02/10/2020 20:45

I follow Team RH. It takes some time getting used to it but once it sinks in it becomes second nature. Im never hungry and don't feel deprived. I've lost 22lbs so far.

toomanyplants · 02/10/2020 20:50

Yes sorry, that's the one!
I'm sure I'll get my head around it eventually, and I'm so done with slimming world and fads
This seems really good and supportive, I just feel a bit dumb at the start!

toomanyplants · 02/10/2020 20:51

And bravo to you both!! That's really reassuring 😃

Letsgetbizzy · 02/10/2020 20:56

I've lost just under 2 stone but I've been faffing really. I've really enjoyed the Facebook group's for steps etc. Very good

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 02/10/2020 21:28

I quite like the fact that you can dip in and out of it without feeling like you've failed. Definitely watch the videos about how to do things like create recipes on MFP and don't scan the barcodes as they're not always accurate!

toomanyplants · 02/10/2020 21:35

Thanks for the tips!

Guitarstrings · 03/10/2020 14:37

I joined Team RH 3 weeks ago, I’m really enjoying it. Only list 4 lbs but still trying to get the hang of things. Wish I had discovered them years ago x

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 04/10/2020 10:36

@Guitarstrings it's a real education isn't it? My new superfoods are turkey, skyr style yogurt, milk and cottage cheese... and all the prawns I can eat!

toomanyplants · 04/10/2020 12:44

I'm only a few days in but feeling really positive! Have been doing my steps walking on the spot at home! Not a great deal but better than sitting on my ass constantly. Really do want to give this 100%, my before photos have truly truly disgusted me

OP posts:
Oxyiz · 04/10/2020 16:59

I've been looking into them. Is it worth the membership fee in your opinion?

toomanyplants · 04/10/2020 17:38

It's a hell of a lot cheaper than SW/WW
Or a gym membership.
Lots of information available, and coaches get back to you fast if you have questions.
I can live with £6.99 a month, and am giving it a good go.
As to your question....ask me in 6 months and I'll give you honest answer 😃

I love that they give a lot of their content for free. There was a post on their Facebook page recently when someone said they'd lost x amount by just following the Facebook page and only signed up for membership when they had reached a certain point (I think it was whenever she needed to start doing a carb refeed or something).

QuestionableDanceMoves · 02/02/2021 17:45

I signed up today and they’ve given me 2800 calories a day- it seems so much!! I know they say everyone says that but I’ve been maintaining on 1700 and have a huge amount of weight to lose (about 100lbs) to get back to where I feel healthy.
I don’t see how anyone can lose weight eating 2800 calories a day, working out 3 times a week and walking 15,000 steps a day which are my parameters- the exercise and steps I do already
Does it work?

MuthaHubbard · 06/02/2021 09:01

Yes it has for me. I was on sw and lost weight but then got to a place where I was eating v little and exercising a lot but weight stopped moving. I realise now i was starting to damage my metabolism and getting into v unhealthy habits. I was so wary of the cals given when I was used to eating less than 1000. Give it 2 or 3 weeks and trust what they say. What have you got to lose? That time would pass anyway and I find its given me a better understanding of the process in a basic way.

Cakeandslippers · 06/02/2021 09:30

I did it for about 6 weeks before Christmas, my calories were at at 2200 which I thought sounded ridiculously high but I stuck to it and lost a stone in 6 weeks. I stuck to 10,000 steps and 3 x workouts a week (just did YouTube ones) but I think I only hit the protein goal a handful of times, though I had started getting a lot closer to it.
I'm just taking a break as I've got a couple of things going on which mean I'm struggling seriously for time and I lost my fitness tracker 🤦‍♀️. But I'm using the principles to maintain and looking forward to getting going again.

Only things I'm not keen on are the app is not great - you have to use my fitness pal so really you could do it all yourself if you were motivated enough. Secondly I'm not keen on all the rants about anyone not following it is just making excuses, I definitely get it but he sometimes says people with kids make excuses and are sitting with a glass of red once kids are in bed....irks me a bit as I have a non sleeping baby and a non sleeping toddler and it's not unusual for me to be holding / sleeping with one all evening, plus baby must be held for naps. Might just be particular to me though, I just ignore those rants and do my best.

MuthaHubbard · 06/02/2021 12:27

@Cakeandslippers - I know what you mean re the rants. Initially i think it helps you to get into the mindset of yes, you actually need to put effort in re steps/weighing food etc but it does get tired so I kind of know what he's ranting about so don't watch. I joined before the app/yearly subscription so am lucky that I kind of know what to do now so cancelled my membership but still follow on fbook ehiks using mfp/fitbit. He's def not everyones cup of tea but I understand his frustration at times and he explains things in a way even I understand Smile

MuthaHubbard · 06/02/2021 12:28

*ehiks?! Obv means which

Angbunnyboo · 07/02/2021 16:11

Team RH are brilliant. Once you get used to it, its easy to do. I thought my allowance was too high but its exactly right, and I'm losing weight.

I've been reading some of the threads on here and people are on 500, 1000, 1200cals and not losing and getting really frustrated. There are loads of people saying just to cut more and it is genuinely concerning that they are getting this advice.

Richie is not everyones cup of tea (he's a bit ranty) but he is absolutely spot on with what he is saying and his science is sound. He could be making a fortune running a SW type of thing but he's keeping it cheap, with loads of free content cos he absolutely believes in helping people. Its a no brainer to me.

QuestionableDanceMoves · 07/02/2021 17:09

Fab thanks for the feedback- I’m actually finding it pretty easy, getting my steps in, protein and fibre.
Can’t quite get my head around how much I’m able to eat on this though- I guess time will tell if it works for me- I’ve got around 8 stone to lose to hit a healthy BMI but realistically it may be a bit less- I’m aiming for a dress size 12 and to be fitter, stronger etc rather than a particular number on the scale
I figured not fixating on the scale will make the natural fluctuations easier to handle!

Angbunnyboo · 07/02/2021 17:20

Questionable I've got 6 stone to lose and I'm on 2100. I know it seems a lot but keep the faith, it really does work. I found it worked just as an eating plan with only 5000 steps per day (I had an injury so couldn't walk more), now that I'm able to walk more and do more exercise it's working even better - I've even started couch 2 5K now!

It's been the most liberating "diet" Ive ever had and I feel so calm about it rather than stressed about it like I usually do.
Richie can be a bit sweary but his videos make so much sense about how the body and calories work.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 07/02/2021 17:23

I am curious. Is it because they make you move more? I believe lots of my weight went on not even due to overeating, but lack of movement compared to before🤔

Angbunnyboo · 07/02/2021 17:24

The other thing is that with so many calories I don't cheat and then beat myself up.
I know I can eat anything as long as I stay within my allowance. I had chocolate cake today and Ive still got calories to use after all meals taken into consideration.

I think if you limit calories you tend to cheat and then beat yourself up, and you class foods as good and bad, its not, its just food.

The TeamRH approach gets you into a much healthier mindset around food and exercise, it just works.

MuthaHubbard · 08/02/2021 08:07

@Angbunnyboo - yes I agree re the freedom to include treats (shite). If I eat too clean or too low, I find myself bingeing massively. Knowing I can have a bar of chocolate /ice cream whatever within my cals, keeps me sane and in check

MotherForker · 10/02/2021 22:09

I'm on my third day now. I've actually struggled to eat all my calories (1900)! Weirdly I've done lower amounts before and felt constantly hungry. I think because I'm consciously choosing foods that are nutritious and have protein and fibre in them. Only hit my fibre target so far though, although only a few grams from my protein. Still got 150 calories for today but I'm just not hungry!
