Free Calorie counting App?

I'm on the free trial of Noom at the moment but will cancel as I'm finding the little bits of witty psychology irritating.

However it is very useful being able to log my food and daily weight.

Is there an App out there that won't require joining an organisation like Noom, Weight Watchers etc?

I've done a search but everything I've found wants a large monthly fee - £99 for 4 months with Noom or £14 a month for WW. I don't want to pay for the other stuff, I don't read it, I just want a simple tool.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

No idea why this is in Style and Beauty - I thought it was in Calorie Counting!

kitchen scales and reading packets...

I looked at my fitness pal a couple of years ago, but then they had a security breach so I didn't pursue it further.

My fitness pal did this. You can use the free option which is what I use

Thank you for the replies. I'll have a look at My Fitness Pal

I use Fitbit to log food, so if you have one of those it could be good?

LoisLittsLover · 14/07/2020 09:05

My fitness pal is great

Another for My Fitness Pal. I used the free version of this when I was calorie counting a few years back. Did the job! You can put in exercise too so can get your daily balance.

And weekly balance actually. I remember being conscious at the time that going over a daily allowance didn’t matter so much as long as the weekly balance evened out.

Another vote for MFP! It also lets you add your own foods (I've done that as noticed some of the stuff didn't have proper nutritional values added probably by other users that have added it manually) .

I've lost a stone using MFP and sticking to 1200cals a day and I'm using it now for a better idea of what my diet consists of and to keep my eye on my sugar intake.

Thanks everyone - now on My Fitness Pal!

I see you've gone to MFP but I also recommend Lose It if anyone else wanted an alternative

saraclara · 14/07/2020 21:39

I was about to recommend Lose It

ScrapThatThen · 14/07/2020 21:41

I've just started lose it because mfp kept crashing.
