Not losing weight

I'm a wheelchair user, and also take MH meds that cause you to put on weight. I've gone from 14 stone to 13 stone (5'2"), but haven't lost any for 4 days now, I'm averaging 1000 kcal/day. Surely I should be losing with this intake? (I use MFP).

4 days isn't long. What is your TDEE? I imagine it's quite low. You shouldn't expect to see loss more than every week or more - not daily.

SnowyMouse · 10/07/2020 20:25

Thanks, you're right, it's not long. I'll persevere. My BMR is 1448 kcal/day.

You don't want to know your BMR, it's the TDEE you need. BMR is what you use with zero activity and even using the wheelchair for mobility you are going to burn calories above the BMR.
You've lost a stone which is amazing, and on 1000 calories (which is very low, but I appreciate your TDEE is also low) you will definitely still continue to lose weight.

SnowyMouse · 11/07/2020 14:08

My TDEE is 1738 kcal, which seems high.

You know, sometimes there are reasons for no weightloss in such a short time span. What happens to me is that every few weeks scale shows no loss, but the next week I lost double. I looks like I just sometimes hold water for few days like crazy. Especially when weather changes rapidly.

I absolutely wouldn't panic over 4 day no loss if I were you. As pp said, you lost a stone and that's great. Don't let little hiccup panic you.

SnowyMouse · 15/07/2020 13:15

Thanks I suddenly lost 3/4 of a lb.

congratulations! You've done amazingly well @SnowyMouse!
Try not to be frustrated with no movement in 4 days, that's a really short period of time.

SnowyMouse · 15/07/2020 13:21

Thanks @MonsteraCheeseplant ! I'll remember that next time it happens.

4 days lol you will have weeks where you’ll gain and sts and Plateau

The body doesn’t lose fat easily 0.5-2lbs a week is all it can lose in fat and hormones water retention not weighing measuring everything and not tracking everything

pinkbalconyrailing · 09/08/2020 13:02

during the heat the body stores more water.
that can easily mean a couple of punds of 'gain'
try to weigh yourself once a week or so instead of more often.

you made great progress so far!

Please look into a ketogenic diet alongside intermittent fasting It’s excellent for weight loss whilst still feeling full, but it’s also been shown to help with mental health issues.

I know some people on here are against a ketogenic diet and love to argue about it. But please research people such as Dr Jason Fung, Dr Steve Phinney, Ivor Cummins, Dr Gary Fetke etc. They give very scientific data as to why this WOE is effective.
