Sensible portion sizes

I’m on a bit of a health kick at the moment and looking to cut back on calories. I think I read somewhere that protein should be approx the size of a deck of cards. Does that sound right? In terms of carbs how much is a sensible amount? I’d prefer a visual guide rather than having to weigh everything out. TIA 🙂

Protein the size of your palm
Veggies the size of your fist
Carbs (if you want some, for me I prefer not to if losing weight) that fit in your cupped hand
Fat the size of your thumb

You can buy a cookie cutter type thing from amazon which divides your plate up into the right portions.

Thank you both for replying. How much would you recommend for salad? Is that unlimited? I remember someone saying they could eat as much salad as they wanted on Slimming World.

@heatseeker14 Salad is never bad for you. It's the salad dressing you have to be careful about.

A small amount of something balsamic- based is fine, but something creamy like a caesar salad dressing really has to be more carefully measured as the calories can rack up faster than you could imagine.
