What to people use to work out their allowance? I'm 5ft 7 and just shy of 16 stone. Exercise twice a week otherwise normally sat down, office job. Mft put me at 1400 and im just constantly hungry, tried the James Smith calorie calculator and that was over 2000 same as davina app. Both obviously included excercise 3 times a week but still definitely won't lose weight eating over 2000 a week. Previously did ww years ago and lost loads but trying to get away from them now as obviously didn't have any idea how much I ate

I use MyFitnessPal, is that what you meant by Mft? I just put your details in to MFP and it gave me 1700 per day to lose 1lb a week, before any exercise - although I find MfP really overestimates exercise calories so I tend to just stick with the base calories allowance and take any extra burnt through exercise as a 'bonus'...

With the 1400, how much weight did you put in as aiming to lose per week? Any more than 1lb average p/week and you are going towards crash diet territory so you are going to be hungry - although the type of food you are eating does make a big difference which is what WW and SW etc try to promote. Are you having plenty of protein and vegetables, complex/wholegrain carbs, some healthy/unsaturated fats like olive oil, these are the things which should fill you up? Are you drinking enough water, because if you've drastically cut your food intake you will be getting less fluid from your diet than before?

Yeah I think I put lose 2lb a week and possibly that's where I've gone wrong. I've now set it to 1660 which is half way between there lowest and others highest if that makes sense. Just feel like I'm perhaps playing a guessing game!
