Meal replacement and calorie counting HELP

I’m 4 11 and I weighed 9st 12lbs at the beginning of the year.
GP said my blood levels were very low (under 1) and gave iron pills and folic acid. This causes amongst other things, extreme fatigue and GP said not to do anything that will cause me to get out of breath. A lot of people told me these cause weight gain but after googling some people say they just make you hungry, and don’t actually cause you to gain weight by themselves.

I was having an Asda meal replacement shake for lunch and calorie counting for the other two meals and no snacks. 30 minutes on the “twist and shape” machine daily. Total calories 1200, and using MFP. I noticed I wasn’t losing any weight but gained 2lbs.
So I went down to 1000 calories , had a meal replacement for two meals and added a 10 min YouTube workout that’s not very strenuous.
Since all this I’ve lost 4lbs and that last pound fluctuates. I’m 9,8 currently and aiming for 8stone. It’s really getting to me. Someone asked me my diet plan and they lost 6lb in a week when they gave it a go. That person is heavier than me and I know everyone’s different but still. It’s very disheartening. I’ve had quite a few nasty comments and pregnancy quips.
Food wise I try not to snack but if I’m desperate I’ll have something and deduct it from my evening meal. It’ll be fruit or carrot sticks or quavers.
I will eat normally in the evening and I have a takeout with the family on Fridays or Saturdays so that my daughter doesn’t notice (she’s 14 I don’t want her to know) and so I’m not depriving myself too much.
Also I do go over the 1000 here and there but if I didn’t I’d be obviously miserable. So trying to be strict but have treats also.

I know there will be some critical comments but this is the only method I feel I can stick to. I was hoping to lose the weight and maintain with just one shake a day

I can’t be bothered faffing about with different ingredients to make myself separate meals. I have an autistic child and it’s difficult enough with his fussy eating, without me then making separate.

Help and advice please.

I think eating take aways and quavers will be undoing all your good work during the week. At 4'11" unfortunately, you can't allow yourself a lot of calories.

for instance, I'm 5'6" and to lose weight, I need to go down to 800 - 1000 calories per day and do three or four short workouts per week.

I'd pop over to the low carb board or general weight loss boards and ask for help there. They'll go through all the details with you and figure out a way for you to lose successfully without it being too painful.

Thank you. I will have a look at those boards.

I have quavers 2-3 times in a week.
If I have a takeaway I don’t eat it all (usually a chicken burger meal or two slices of pizza) On takeaway days I’ll be maximum 250 calories over. (1250)

Yes, it sounds like youre eating too many calories.

I think you're under-estimating your calorie intake too.

What are your other meals like?

PerfidiousAlbion · 06/03/2020 18:57

ps weight loss is 80% diet.

I log in everything, and if I’m not sure about something I’ll not eat it.
MFP often won’t calculate my estimated weight loss as it says I’m not eating enough.

PerfidiousAlbion my meal is usually a chapatti and lamb curry (homemade so minimal oil) and no meat just the sauce bit. It’s about half a cup. Sometimes 1/4 cup veg
