Hi all,
Hoping there's more of you out there in the same boat? I have been calorie counting since Oct and have now lost (very nearly) 1.5 stone but I am running out of motivation.

Anyone else need a kick up the bum to crack on for February?

I weigh in on a Friday but haven't been good this weekend so really need to knuckle down...

Also trying to keep up my exercise but don't want to do thAt either today!!

Anyone else?!

Can I join please? I've been using MFP for three weeks, eating 1200 calories and fasting 16:8 (although not sure if I should be doing 18:6 and I've got mixed up).

I've lost 7lbs and actually still feeling really enthusiastic about this!

I realllllllllllly want to make this time work, tried SW and WW in the past and just piled it all back on plus more.

The weight gain has been due to medication increasing appetite and getting into really bad habits, but this time I'm looking at this as a treat that I deserve to be healthy and slim rather than a punishment depriving myself!

I've found having more choice to be able to have anything I want in limited portions much better than the restriction of SW and WW where there are lists of good and bad foods.

I'm also trying to slowly increase my activity. Trying to hit 10,000 steps per day until I've lost enough to feel comfortable joining a class a couple of times a week.

Sorry that turned into a big ramble Grin

@revelsandrose well done on your weight loss so far! I agree with you about the freedom of calorie counting. As soon as you put a restriction (such as oh you can't have avocado it's too high in syns) I just can't deal with it!

Btw you are right, it is 16:8 but of course you could do 18:16 if you can stretch to it. I also fast usually manage between 16-18 hours. I was on holiday last week and had breakfast one of the days and the difference to my eating and cravings was insane. I just want to keep eating as soon as I have breakfast where as fasting must do something to my insulin release (I know that's the point). Whatever It does, it works for me!

Well done @revelsandrose! I'm firmly in the 'eat less, move more' camp rather than the restrictions of diet plans. It's the only think that has ever worked for me in terms of sustainable loss.

Though I started February with such good intentions and have been rubbish. But, about to get out for a blustery cold walk to clear the cobwebs and get this week off to a good start. Back to the calorie counting tomorrow - I have two social events at the end of the week so I could do with trying to bank some extra exercise calories!
