I’ve just got into my “healthy” weight according to nhs bmi calculator. But I have 12lb to lose to reach my goal. I lost 4lb in a week which was fab but now I’m stuck on the same weight! I’m calorie counting using the lose it app- I am always within my limit. And have been doing high impact cardio YouTube work out daily- granted its 20 minutes but with a 6 month old and a 4 month old this is all I can fit in on top of nursery walk. I don’t know where I’m going wrong?! Any tips?

Congrats on reaching healthy weight, that is a great milestone in itself! How long has it been that you've been stuck at the same weight? Unfortunately weight loss does generally slow right down once you have less to lose, it makes sense from a metabolic point of view that the body wants to 'hold on' to those last llbs as long as it can in case of sudden famine etc! 4lb in a week is brilliant but just not sustainable long term when you are already not overweight, I think you need to expect it to be more like 0.5- 1 lb a week, and even then it might come more in plateaus followed by big dips rather than steadily.

I don't think you are necessarily doing anything wrong at all, you probably just need to stick at it. If you did fancy a change I am a great fan of the 5:2 which feels (to me anyway) less restrictive than daily calorie counting and people do see good weight loss on it even if they are previously stalled, maybe check out the 5:2 board on here for more info?

Thanks for your reply. I’d had only been 2 weeks. Weighed this morning and I have lost another lb. I need to be more patient I know. A lb a week is what I’m hoping for.

I know a few people who do 5:2 but I’m just trying to adjust lifestyle in a way I can continue long term. Eat healthy and exercise daily. I might look at giving it a go to reach my goal weight perhaps!
