Back onto MFP after leaving 4 years ago at 8st 4lbs re starting today at 10st 13lbs😩😥 Now I'm over 40 do you think it will be harder than last time? Main things to cut back on are far too much wine and eating the kids snacks ! I have booked a holiday for mid August and if I haven't lost a stone by then I'm going to hide under a blanket for the whole time 🙈 Not sure i'll manage exercise to start with and i'll probably under eat all week to splurge Calories on wine once a week ! Any once fancy joining me as rant about not meeting my targets!!

Morning @insideoutandback how are you doing? Are you still sticking it out?

I've lost another 2lb this week so that's 15lb in 6 weeks. Just another 31lb to go Shock.

insideoutandback · 25/06/2019 09:48

Hi @dottielittle that's amazing well done you. Keep up the hard work. Ive had a terrible week 🙈 kids all had vomiting and diarrhoea (5 of them) we had visitors staying so my eating plan has gone out the window and I drank way too much gin !! But I lost 1lb. Thats better than nothing or after the last week a gain. Anyway its looking up today no vomit or anything so back on it. Determind to lose another at least 7lb by 17 august so that should be more than managable !

Considering your week didn't go to plan a loss if 1lb is good!

I've managed to stay on track even when there have been last minute changes to my plan. I'm not sure where it's come from but it was like a lightbulb moment - when I had to rummage around for alternative clothing and nothing fitted. I started there and then. It was if it put me in tunnel vision Hmm

I'm only 6 weeks in so plenty of time to balls up. For some reason I don't think I will. Just hope the weight keeps shifting.

Keep it going!

DottieLottie1 · 01/07/2019 15:04

Only 1lb off this week. I know it's a change in the right direction but I'm a tad disappointed. If it had of been 2lb I would now be inside a healthy BMI range. Also feels like it's going to slow right down. Hopefully I'll get there by next week. Still 2st 2lb to lose.

Stolen idea from a kind poster on another thread I'm going to make a ratatouille this week. Filling but low in calories.

How are you getting on @insideoutandback and all?

IWouldPreferNotTo · 01/07/2019 15:08

I lost 45Kg over a year and have annoyingly put 20 back on over two. I'm now restarting with an aim to lose 35Kg.

My plan is to do what I did the first time. Aim for a 7000Kcal deficit per week tracked using libra and getting in 8 hours of mixed exercise. Currently planning on cycling and helping out on the farm for resistance work

DottieLottie1 · 02/07/2019 06:48

How have you time for 8 hours daily exercise @IWouldPreferNotTo ? Though saying that I get in around that on my full working days (sports coach).

IWouldPreferNotTo · 02/07/2019 08:30

@DottieLottie1

That's 8 hours a week, I thought that was implied by listing the calorie deficit as being over a week.

Two sets of two hour bike rides at the weekend, some 30 minute hill repeat sessions in the evening and the rest being things like filling a trailer with logs and unloading it, moving hay bales around etc.

I had an attempt at ParkRun a few weeks ago to see how bad I'd got and my 25 min time I used to manage was a rather saddening 36 min.

I'm not including walking with the pram in exercise as I do that most lunchtimes but that's just a 45 minute walk at not much of an intensity (apart from the hill).

DottieLottie1 · 03/07/2019 21:36

Oops sorry @IWouldPreferNotTo , re-read and it's clear you meant 8 hrs per week Blush.

Good plan! Hope you get success. I'm active as my job is and I also walk my dog. I stick to 1200 cals mon-fri but invariably it's around 1000. I treat myself a little at the weekend with a takeaway.

insideoutandback · 03/07/2019 21:36

Your both doing a lot more exercise than I am. I cant seem to fit it in between working and running round after kids ! I don't seem to have enough hours in the day.
Our little one has really ill and we are being told by dietician to up jer calories which means lots of calorie rich foods around. I am using every bit of will power I have to resist.
Hope yu both sticking to your plans

@insideoutandback, sorry to here about your DC, hopefully with the dieticians advice they will feelback to normal soon.

My DC are teens now so the challenges are different. I still run around after them but in a different way.

DottieLottie1 · 03/07/2019 21:39

hear! Not here 😡

insideoutandback · 03/07/2019 21:46

Teens as well as little ones. In fact i think the teens need more running around. Still i am going to make more effort to get exercise in, even if its extra steps during the day.

IWouldPreferNotTo · 04/07/2019 07:20

@DottieLottie1

I tried 1200KCal but being a man with a slightly higher bmr I found the deficit too high once combined with exercise. I could manage it for two or three weeks and then my times on regular routes would start increasing.

I'm quite nerdy so I tend to graph everything as well as recording all exercise with heart rate and tracking heart rate all day.

Unfortunately now I have a baby I can't do what I used to do which is ultra long distance (200+km) bike rides as they take too long.

So I need to find a way of getting the exercise in in shorter blocks

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 09:50

Hi @insideoutandback and all,

Good week for me as I've had a woosh of weight loss- another 3lbs down. Takes away the disappointment of last weeks 1lb loss. I'm now down 1st 5lbs in 8 weeks. 27lbs to goal weight. Now inside a healthy BMI range and in the 11st bracket. I'm generally keeping to around 1000 calories a day except from a Saturday when I will have a takeaway.

How are you all getting on?

insideoutandback · 08/07/2019 11:26

Whoop whoop well done @dottielittle its so satisfying isn't it. I'm dow to 9st 9lb so coming off slowly but coming off. Was at sports day yesterday and got lots of people telling me how slim I was looking so thats a massive boost. Although its coming off slowly on the scales starting to really notice with clothes and underwear. I can see a shopping trip coming on ! Good luck this week, keep us posted everyone

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 19:25

And well done to you too @insideoutandback, is that a 17lb loss? How much more have you got to lose to get to your goal?

like you my clothes are getting loose and baggy although my DH has still to notice, he is not aware I'm actively trying to lose weight. Grin

Can't wait to buy some lovely new jeans hopefully for the autumn.

Jupiter13 · 10/07/2019 00:24

You know what you need to do...eat less and go for brisk walks. I lost a stone in 2 days. Good luck.

insideoutandback · 11/07/2019 08:02

I'd like to get down to 8st 13lb so a bit to go yet. Wow thanks for the advice jupiter I'd never thought of that ! @dottielittle hows ypur week going so far ?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 12/07/2019 09:19

Good thanks @insideoutandback although my DH has scuppered today's meal plan! He is off work and has umming and ahhing a pub dinner or t/away instead of the planned steak. He isn't aware I'm dieting so doesn't realise it's put me in a dilemma- I'm now going to fast breakfast and lunch just in case! BlushGrin

I decided not to answer JUPITER13 as they obviously hadn't read the threadHmm

Enjoy the lovely weather everyone!

DottieLottie1 · 15/07/2019 08:43

Hi @insideoutandback another good week for me with a further 2 lbs loss. That's 21 lbs in 9 weeks. Another 25 lb to go, hoping I will reach my target weight by Halloween 👻 .

Having cut down on the booze I think this process shows me my enemy! Shock
