I have just received notification from haveibeenpwned.com that I am one of the 143,606,147 users of MFP whose data has been breached. These datas have now been put for sale. Change passwords .

QUOTE
[ In February 2018, the diet and exercise service MyFitnessPal suffered a data breach. The incident exposed 144 million unique email addresses alongside usernames, IP addresses and passwords stored as SHA-1 and bcrypt hashes (the former for earlier accounts, the latter for newer accounts). In 2019, the data appeared listed for sale on a dark web marketplace (along with several other large breaches) and subsequently began circulating more broadly. ]

Go on this haveibeenpwned.com and check if your email has been affected.

Yesterday it was My Heritage, so I am now on a notification alert for website.

I've just looked on there and my email address is on there too. What do we do? I can't remember what the password would have been on there or what else I've used it for.

Mustbetimeforachange · 21/02/2019 21:53

Same here but have no idea what my password was or what else I used it for. Plus the breach was a year ago so anything could have been done with it since then.

Jelly have you got an iPhone? Check your saved password list and you might be able to see it

Jellyfloodagain · 21/02/2019 22:15

No I haven't got an iPhone.

Mustbetimeforachange · 21/02/2019 22:18

For me it's so long since I used it it's not saved in Google. Was probably on a long dead iPhone but I probably used the same password a lot at that time :(
Changing it now won't really help anyway, it's been washing around in the dark web being sold for a year!

KingIrving · 21/02/2019 23:33

I meant change the password if the one you used on MFP is used somewhere else as well.

I know, that's what I'm saying. I don't know what the password was or where else I used it!
