Well done drspouse, on your -3lbs.

I on the other hand have put on 5lbs!! Time of the month is my excuse, but now even more for me to lose before 26th.

It's the sneaky non snack snacks, that get me. A dipped spoon into the peanut butter, because I've spotted the jar when I opened the cupboard. Or the slice of cheese , I snaffle when making DHs sandwich in the morning.

My own fault 🤦🏽‍♀️

KingIrving · 17/09/2018 19:43

Good morning everyone,
Can I join / add you? I don't have much to lose, under 10lbs, but are these stubborn! They won't move. I have started exercising at the gym and I put on weight, so before I buy clothes in a size up, MFP is my last resort.
It was never difficult so me to remain at a certain weight, the same I had for the last 20 years, but for the first time, whatever I used to do doesn't work, so I might need a bit of motivation and support to stay on tracks. Might be my age (50s her I come) or the loss of muscle mass, as I had two surgeries in May and just started exercising again last week,
My username is " Letstrythissite "

Hi everyone , I have added a few of you for inspiration , I hope that's ok ? I have 2 stone to lose after putting on 6 stone last pregnancy ( ds is now 1) I've lost 4 but am struggling to shift the last 2 :( I was previously a size 8 pre baby and remained slim until I was 7 months and then ballooned to a size 14 ( which I know isn't huge but when you were as tiny as me frame wise , it was a lot for me personally ) due to a thyroid issue and undiagnosed / late diagnosed gestational diabetes x
This last 2 I am finding just so difficult to shift !!! I am not putting any weight on but not losing any more either and am just maintaining my current so am hoping with extra eyes on me on MFP it will make me do something and log the day hehe x

SocksRock · 17/09/2018 20:22

I’ve found being utterly honest with myself via MFP has been really helpful - yes I still overeat but I’m much better at making good choices now, weight still coming off but slowly now..

KingIrving · 17/09/2018 20:41

Logging every single morsel on MFP made me certainly realise that I had hugely underestimated my calories intake.
Seeing that I am so close to my daily allowance of 1200 puts a stop to hand reaching for a piece of bread/nut/ whatever while cooking or MNetting

KingIrving · 17/09/2018 20:51

I haver a question because I am relatively new to MFP, well I first enrolled years back but left after a week.
Do you try to remain in your 1200 window or do you stretch to the extra calories from exercise? For example 1 hour gym class at roughly 300cal , so daily allowance would be 1500?

SocksRock · 18/09/2018 03:29

I always eat any extra calories from exercise and it hasn’t stopped me losing weight

KingIrving · 18/09/2018 05:26

Thanks for replying Socks.
I still eat below the 1200/day and my weight just doesn't move. It;s there and stuck. Good thing is I haven't put more on, but still very annoying.
I am very scrupulous in putting everything, including the half squeezed lemon I have in the morning, but despite eating around 1050/day, scale is not going down and trousers still feel uncomfortably tight.
I guess I need to persevere. No sure if I am eating wrong. I will cut the nuts, but I usually need them for calcium, protein and vitamins, as I eat plant-based.
Nuts will have to go I think

drspouse · 18/09/2018 09:10

1050 per day is really too low.
You need to eat more than that for your body to have any fuel to burn.

SocksRock · 18/09/2018 09:16

1050 is deffo too low. You won't be able to burn anything off that way. I usually end up 1200-1400 net calories and have lost 4 stone on that.

KingIrving · 18/09/2018 09:40

I know it is far too low. But I am stuck, I do high intensity at the gym, look after what I eat, but weight is not going down, if anything slightly going up. It is to break that circle I try to go low. I was at the gym again today, went on the scale and despite the exercise, the 1050 cal for several days, weight is still the same.
Never happened before, weight fluctuated a bit in winter but in Spring it was always back to the same old without dieting. Not this time.
Very frustrating

drspouse · 18/09/2018 10:12

Well if it's far too low you aren't stuck! Eat more!
Are you saying you eat 1050 ONLY and you ALSO do high intensity or you eat 1050 plus the exercise calories?
Either way, it's too low.
Eat 1200-1400 plus the exercise calories.

KingIrving · 18/09/2018 11:17

No, I ignore the one from the exercise, it is just 1050.

I started higher, wasn't losing weight, so I lowered and lowered some more and no cheating, everything , including the lemon I squeeze on my veggies is logged, but no, nothing happens.

Very very strange.

drspouse · 18/09/2018 11:41

It's not strange in the slightest. You need to eat more.
You need to eat more than 1050 if you are doing no exercise.
So you need to eat about 1200-1400 PLUS THE EXERCISE CALORIES.
So if you are doing exercise you DEFINITELY need to eat more.
FFS counting lemon juice?
Eat some food missus!

KingIrving · 18/09/2018 19:44

I will try to follow your advice today (it's early morning here) !

Bossyboots88 · 23/09/2018 11:05

Hi I hope you don't mind but I have added everyone. I lost a couple of sts on mfp a few years ago but then gave up smoking and had a baby. I put quite a lot of weight back on so have been doing mfp for around 50 days and have lost a stone so far. Most of My friends have on inactive and I find I lose all motivation when there's no one for me to interact with. My username is hlijordan

LeastOriginalUsername · 31/10/2018 15:43

Hope I'm not too late to add some (all?) of you. Have been trying to lose weight from the summer, but got injured/stop exercising and recommenced over eating and drinking. Happened to weigh myself in friend's bathroom at the weekend ... that is motivation in itself! thanks :)

LeastOriginalUsername · 31/10/2018 15:44

Oh my MFP name is lohoho01

HoobleDooble · 31/10/2018 16:35

I've sent you a friend request (MrsBadger2014) haven't been on for ages as I fell off the diet wagon, but I'll be back soon.

LogicMakesSense · 22/12/2018 21:38

Ohhhhh dear....

I'm not sure where the last few months went but I forgot to Mfp!

Have gone back on today getting ready to get my butt in gear! X

LogicMakesSense · 22/12/2018 21:39

Crap ignore the x! (Making most of last few days and am on the bubbles!)

Can I tentatively ask what shows up when you add friends on MFP? Ive been on a few years but only did it seriously last year and lost over 2 stone. I've put a stone back on though and need a kick up the backside.
I'm a bit nervous of sharing though as I've always just done it on my own.

Does it just share the daily loss/gain update?

Mumao · 11/01/2019 17:31

Hi, my username is Strawberrygem2016 if you want to add me. I’ve added you OP 😊

Mumao · 11/01/2019 17:32

Ps. I’m trying to do 5:2 but sleep deprivation is ruining my diet! 😂😘

whiskeysourpuss · 11/01/2019 17:41

I've just logged into mine (set it up & didn't use it but have gained 1.5st since I set it up in March 2016 😱)

My name is jenemlou on it if anyone wants to add me... probably help me not just give up if people can see me!

I'm also doing C25K in a bid to shift the weight & get fitter - doubtful I'll be doing 5k in 8 weeks though.
