Body fat

I've started a weight loss bootcamp at my local gym and they have taken body fat readings from various points on my body with calipers. This has come back with a measurement of 34.6%.

When I've googled this it says this is classed as obese 😳. I'm in a dress size 10, is this even possible?

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of this?
Thanks

I think those body fat readings are very inaccurate and whats useful about them is how they compare over time. So if you do it the same way or using some scale again how does it compare? Im sure a prpper dexz sczn would be accurate but thats £££
Dress sizes are all over the place so a size 10 can mean a wide range. Whats your bmi? I fibc bmi generally pretty good. I know not everyone does
On a dofferent note I think your body shape impacts hugely on how body fat looks. Im always surprised at how low the body fat percentage is on my friends with a more athletic straight up and down build. Im a very hour glass shape with a generous bust and bum. Even my limbs are very shapely and sort of lush. I always get surprisingly high body fat pet cent readings. For a while i wondered whether i hsd a sort of body dysmorphia where i think i look better than i do...
But dont panic: just try to look at yourself snd try to see how you look without lots of judgement and fear if its over a particular number. Maybe youre just curvy
