Mfp more generous than fitbit

I've started tracking and I've noticed MFP is far more generous with exercise calories and my deficits look greater even though the two ar supposedly linked?

For eg today fitbit has told me I've burned 1995 calories and mfp 2257. That's quite a significant difference.

Which one have people found more accurate?

I would say the Fitbit is more accurate. Apps and machines tend to significantly overestimate calorie burn unless you are very overweight.

I use Map My Run linked to MFP and then have my fitbit as a standalone. Find that the FitBit gives more calories for exercise than MMR/MFP -which both seem to be Under Armour apps. It frustrates me greatly!

As an example, today my C25K run burned, according to FitBit, 230 cals whereas MMR showed 185. The FitBit must be more accurate as it has HR monitor but I go by MMR cals as have a couple of kg to lose. Not overweight, just needing to whittle my waist down a bit!

I go by the Fitbit one as it is less generous. I guess they're all going to be out by something. It's probably not quite as an exact a science as it looks.
