Hi all,
I have done slimming world for over a year and lost 21/2 stone, but I find it hard to stick to as I have so much going on, so I am slowly putting it back on.
About 2 weeks ago I signed up to the gym and go Monday to Friday when the kids are at school.
Last Friday I bought a Fitbit Versa. So as from yesterday I decided to start calorie counting instead.
So does anyone know if the Versa is good at giving you your actual calories to eat in a day? As they seem to go up throughout the day?
Also does this mean I can eat what I want aslong as I'm within my calories?
Tia Smile

Work out your TDEE, google it and any site will tell you what you need to be eating. 3500 calories equals 1lb of weight. So you need to be in a 3500 deficit.
Do not eat what your Fitbit says you have burned. Figure out what you need to maintain your weight (this is the TDEE) and then multiply it by 7 to get your weekly total, take off 3500, then divide your new figure by 7 and that’s you daily calorie allowance.

Hi thanks
So if I've worked it out right I should have 1,621 a day.
So do I not alter this if I exercise?
Thanks again Smile

I think that’s a really healthy doable figure to begin with and to sustain. Don’t alter it with exercise, just maybe alter what you eat. If you’re exercising have some protein and slow releasing carbs for energy and muscle.
Some people choose to eat back calories they’ve exercised off but as you want to lose weight I wouldn’t. You need to log everything though including tea/coffee and ketchup for example. You’ll find yourself wanting to use calories for bulkier options, so loads of fruit and veg as it has little calories rather than eating 3 cheeseburgers as your daily allowance! Good luck!

Thankyou so much you have made this so much clearer for me.
Fingers crossed I get used to it soon Smile
