How do you know how many calories to eat? Am 11 and a half stone and 5 foot 8.
Guessing 1200-1500 depending on how fast I want to lose?

I have a fitbit and eat between 900-1200 cals, in conjunction with 10000 steps. Ion that basis, I should in theory lose a pound a week.

I'd prefer a longer-term weight loss though. I can't starve any more.

I'm a similar height/weight and burn 1800 calories per day living a sedentary lifestyle. I'm currently eating 1300 calories per day, up to 1500 on the days I go to the gym. I tend to eat so it averages out at this over the week.

I am losing my baby weight at the Moment and I'm the same weight and height as you.

I stick to 1450 a day and so far have seen weight loss each week, most weeks at 2lb a week

I have been on many diets and I find restricting a ton of calories never helps and isn't possible to keep up with. I think your own suggestion is just about right - 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day along with moderate exercise and you should be fine.

Thanks all :)

My other half swears by this site www.iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ to work out how many calories you should be eating to lose weight. It's more aimed at bodybuilding type people i suppose but it's worked fine for me in the past.
