Breastfeeding and MFP

Hi

I've just started using MFP to track my food.
The backstory is that before I was pregnant I lost two and a half stone calorie counting, then the diet paused during pregnancy. After I had DD, I lost all the baby weight and another half stone through the power of cake and breastfeeding! Putting me 6lbs above a healthy BMI.

But, now that DD is feeding much less, I've put 5 lb on Hmm

So my question is, in MFP, can you allow for a two year old who has a couple of breastfeeds a day?

Thanks

I think I would just set weightloss to 1lb a week. I think your body gets more efficient at producing milk as time goes on and obviously they drink less so the 500 calories a day thing goes out the window.

Well done on your weightloss!

Thanks for the reply!

I'm sure I don't get the extra 500 calories any more, I just didn't want to either eat too little because I wasn't allowing for it, or too much because I was over compensating!

I've been following the 1lb a week setting, and managing to stick within it, so I think that is the way forward. On wards and downwards - on the scale at least!!

DC3 is 23mo and feeds quite often but I don't take it into account in my calories.
