Losing weight with chronic illness

I have fibromyalgia, and in an attempt to control pain, I am on various medication. I know some of them make me crave carbs, and I can find myself eating two or three slices of cake, being aware of what I am doing, but still doing it.
As a result, at 5'5", I am now 11stone 13lbs. I am apple shaped and can really feel my waist has expanded and my jeans feel tight.

I can't exercise more than two short walks with my dogs each day, due to fatigue.

I have started using MFP today, hoping that will make me more accountable for what goes in my mouth.

Does anyone have success stories or tips for losing weight in this situation?
Thanks

No tips, but wondered if i could join you? I have physical issues too, and my weight has shot up. Joining the gym soon so i can swim (weight bearing exercise is a real bugger for me), but i need to eat less.

I did find that keeping track of what i ate did help a few months ago, just got sort of distracted, so i thought a weight loss buddy might help that :)

So, yesterday i started slimfast. I know its not ideal and have been very anti-diet in the past, but i have to do something or we're gonna be adding obesity related problems to my list! I'll let you know how i get on :)
