The french teacher in our school very strict and difficult . she is bit OCD I suspect .

she says : I am
Not the type says : good good good . I am
The type saying good occasionally . And saying : mehhhhh lots of times .
and lots other verbal threat like : if …..I will tell your mum . If …… your mum will hear this in parent meeting .

when kids need to go to toilet urgently. She : want to go to toilet ? Say it in french . Come on . What ?? This is too beginner. Repeat with me this more intermediate longer sentence : bla bla bla bla bla .
Ok NOW you can go .

my kiddo now is psychologically traumatised enough that the poor wee boy always anxiously go empty his bladder BEFORE every french lesson .

She has a reputation for being weird .
i just wonder whether this crossed line and actually emotionally abusive and illegal to deny basic human right for under 10 . As a teacher .

Sorry your post is slightly confusing- maybe it’s me but I really don’t understand the section “she says” and “not the type”

As a teacher, lots of children ask to go to the toilet at the same time, sometimes it’s genuine, other times they need a break from the class or want to go with their friend. I only send one child at a time and might say to the others there’s a queue just now. I know the children who have toileting issues and always send them to go straight away. If a child is repeatedly asking to go to the toilet in my class then I suggest I phone the parent to check in, mainly incase they have a little infection.

I also encourage children to try remember to go to the toilet at break and lunch.

If you’re concerned about what’s happening then why not phone and ask to chat to the French teacher about it. You could also send a note saying they need to go to the toilet frequently.

It does seem like the teacher has a lot of students leaving the class and now would like them to say it in French. This also seems like a phrase she’s taught them a lot so she’s probably just reminding them to ask in French before they go. What I would suggest is you encourage your child to ask before they get really desperate, that way it’s not a rush to go.
