Are we allowing our kids to become delinquents over-protecting them?

This group of teenage vandals just broken my garden gate as sport. They kicked it until it cracked out of boredom. they damage my property and shouted at me abuse when I caught them.
If you recognise any of them, if one of them was your kid would you step forward and make them pay for my door or would you become their accomplice?

I wouldn’t take on a gang of teens especially in London. Dangerous.
