Guns at primary school

So I got a call from the school stating that two boys brought BB guns into school yesterday. They brought them in to shoot my son and another boy. They told the rest of the yr 6 that if they snitched on them they would get shot too.
Luckily one of my son's friends did "snitch" so the guns were found and confiscated.
My son and his friend are visibly shaken and didn't want to go in today.
The boys have been banned from fun activities for 3 days.
I have been told the police have been informed.
We have had issues with safe guarding at the school before, not protecting my son from bullies. But this has shocked me.
What do I do?!

What type of parent gives a six year old a BB gun? They showed very quickly that they were not mature enough. I would set up a meeting with the head of the school to see how he will prevent this from happening again. I would also call the parents if these children still have access to these guns.

Being from America the rednecks from the South and Midwest have their children shooting from an early age and these backward states have the most violence of all the states. Road rage, argument, you name it, they pull out a gun.

we had no toy guns or BB guns any my teens have zero interest in them. That’s a serious offense for such a young child. And to have targets makes it even more dangerous.

Hey, thanks for replying. I posted this back in may. They were year 6 boys so both were 11. But it's still unacceptable.
The headmistress appealed to the local authority to suspend the kids but was not allowed.
The police came into speak to the children, but the gunman loved every second of it. He's a nasty child who has bullied my son ever since (throwing juice over his head at the school play, uploading videos to tiktok of him, messaging threats to him). As has his mother and grandmother (verbal abuse at local street party). The grandmother has been banned from the school.
The teachers are literally at their limit with this family. Who are still convinced that we are all being over the top and the gun was just a toy.
My son has left the school now and I hope that he has a better experience in his next school.
All I keep thinking is, what if one of the younger kids got hold that gun and shot a child in the face. Frightening stuff.

Trashy families can be nightmares. They seem to have an attitude like “we’re not America” calm down. They'll be sorry if this kid starts shooting his BB gun recklessly in the playground terrorizing the children. I’m glad for you that you were able to change schools.
