Would like some advise please. My daughter came home very upset about something happened at school. They learnt about Islam/Muslim and the teacher said that most Muslims have Asian skin like my daughter. Then one of the child ask why my daughters father has dark skin then teacher said because they are Indian. We are not Indian so my daughter tried to correct the teacher saying we are Sri Lankan’s not Indian they she was told Sri Lanka is part of India. Well actually Sri Lanka is not part of India. My daughter only been to Sri Lanka couple of times but loves and adore the country. She is very proud about where she comes from. But on this occasion she felt singled out upset in the class room. Why did she had to say most Muslims have Asian skin like my daughter. There was no need to refer to a skin colour.
