Keep People Who Don't Believe in Dinosaurs Away From My Children!

Recently, there was an article here about a "mom" in the UK who claimed she didn't want the existence of dinosaurs being taught to children. "She" claimed that dinosaurs don't exist and to teach children they did is to fill them with bad values because "Dinosaurs are evil". CADministry even talks about burning toy dinosaurs and disowning their own sister.

The truth is, these "Christians Against Dinosaurs" people are a bunch of internet bullies who, while claiming to be followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, are little more than internet bullies who use profanity and threaten people on their facebook page with eternal damnation for believing in dinosaurs; a far cry from the concerned mother who posted the link to their group. In fact, this is the second incarnation of this group. The first was abandoned by its creator when he realized that it was silly to claim that dinosaurs didn't exist. Those who run the current page are little more than zealots who use their outlandish religious views to scare good, loving followers of the Lord into abandoning the sound view that dinosaurs existed.
When I went onto their facebook page, I simply asked "So you don't believe in dinosaurs? Why not? There's so much evidence?" And the response I got was offensive, to say the least! They started cursing at me, telling me I was the devil's play thing, that the devil would eat my scrotum (very embarrassing to use such foul sex talk) and even suggested that I should lick the anus of satan himself? I was appalled! Then they started posting pictures of sinner burning in hell and told me I was next! When I asked to be removed from the group, they mocked me and told me I couldn't. They called me an atheist. An Atheist! I nearly vomited up my communion wafer and mineral water! The thought nearly made me pass out. I begged and pleaded but they still refused. I had to disconnect my internet altogether for days. I spent the next week crying into my wife's shoulder, while my children wept openly to see their father broken by such evil - the likes of which I had assured them did not exist in this world. After some heavy prayer sessions with my local priest and long hours spent in self-reflection, I was able to return to the internet and confront these vile people. But my first post exclaiming that they were wrong about dinosaurs was deleted and then I was removed from their group. My only saving grace that day was the revelation of another page on Facebook called "Dinosaurs Against Christians Who Are Against Dinosaurs" and I found solace there among people of several different belief systems who were dedicated to opposing the evildoers at Christians Against Dinosaurs. You can see that group at www.facebook.com/groups/dacwaad

Eternal damnation scares me, but I know that the God in heaven I pray to every night and worship for hours in church on Sunday did indeed create these wonderful creatures that existed millions of years ago. I accept that God also decided that dinosaurs needed to die so that humans could evolve. In a way, dinosaurs died for us, kind of making them akin to Jesus. If God had wanted to keep them around, there wouldn't have been room for us to come along.

We owe dinosaurs and their sacrifice everything. I just think everyone should know that.

I take it this is a pisstake?

You never can tell these days.

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 18:52

I wish it were. These people really don't believe in dinosaurs and are really mean. But I pray for them anyway. That's what Jesus would do.

That's what I was trying to figure out MrsWolowitz.

WannaBe · 12/02/2015 19:53

the internet is full of freaks. my suggestion would be to stay away from facebook.

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 19:56

Ok, I'll explain it again. These people want to convince everyone that dinosaurs don't exist. They do so under the guise of being Christians. But if you go to their site and question them, they hurl profanities at you, call you an atheist and basically mock you and your ideas (unless of course you agree with them).

That's what I'm trying to convey here. They aren't Christians.

And also, it's pretty darn obvious dinosaurs really existed.

This has got to be the same OP as the dinosaur thread? Same style of writing.

YouKnowNothinJonSnow · 12/02/2015 20:03

What's wrong with being called an atheist? I'm an atheist! Hmm

Gasosaurus · 12/02/2015 20:18

I believe in dinosaurs.
I believe in God/Jesus etc (I think).
I don't go to church - I play golf on a Sunday (God understands).
I happily believe in what I want to.
I don't get sucked in to rubbish.
I am a happy person.
Why don't you just ignore them and get on with your life.

VixxFace · 12/02/2015 20:26

op saw the other thread and is trying to rehash for attention. Wink

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 20:48

Really?

I loved the original dinosaur thread, it was epic, really it was and I contributed with much glee....

But do we need to do it again? Really?

Your op is as far fetched as the other op - who gets so very upset over dinosaurs?? Whhhhoooo???

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 20:58

Wouldn't have believed it til I came across their page, which I admit was months ago. What overwhelmed me was their fervor in denying dinosaurs and the vitriol with which they did it.

OP posts:
DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 21:02

But I do pray for them.

Won't somebody THINK OF THE DINOSAURS?

TheCowThatLaughs · 12/02/2015 21:34

I know someone in real life who doesn't believe in dinosaurs, due to going to a weird religious school that only taught creationism

fredfredsausagehead1 · 12/02/2015 21:35

What would the dinosaurs do ?

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 21:49

The odd thing about Creationists that a lot of them DO believe in dinosaurs, but they also believe that dinosaurs and men walked the earth at the same time, which is just as absurd as not believing in dinosaurs. Double facepalm.

you really cried for a week over these idiotic people? I wouldn't waste any time worrying about it as they are clearly doing it to cause offence and wind people up. I joined the group a couple of days ago and its just non stop insult after insult. If anything it has made me more eager to educate my children about dinosaurs.

DinosaurDad · 12/02/2015 22:57

It was the horrible things they said about me and my faith that brought me to tears, not their lack of belief in dinosaurs. And I hear and agree with you on the emphasized need to educate our children about dinosaurs.

I missed a good dinosaur thread. Sad

DinosaurDad · 04/03/2015 18:03

The battle against these evil people continues. There's a facebook group that directly opposes them and tries its best to make people realize that dinosaurs did exist and aren't imginary. It's called DACWAAD; Dinosaurs Against Christians Who Are Against Dinosaurs.
