Does anyone know where you can get assertiveness training/support for your children? My D1 is a fairly unassertive child who is starting to get excluded from play at her school. We have discussed some tactics she can use but I think some assertiveness practice would be really useful to her. Neither parent is very good at this themselves so help would be great.

There's a great book called bullies, bigmouths and so-called friends by J. Alexander (Hodder)

Really easy reading and not the usual 'try and ignore it / say something witty' advise.

I am using it as base for anti-bullying workshops.

Ontherainbow, thank you for the book recommendation. It is really good. DS has been bullied at school and we find it very helpful for the both of us.
