When does it ever stop?

My dd was bullied by a group of girls (that had been friends) for over a year. The "usual stuff" nasty messages on fb, spreading rumours, name calling, abusive phonecalls. I involved the police as the school were useless.
Dd left school in summer & is now going to college in a nearby town to study A levels. So a new start, new friends etc.

She was in town last night having a meal with the new friends when in walked the bullies. Who spent the evening talking very loudly about dd but not naming her...ie, don't you hate people who....that sort of thing.

She's 16 and was crying herself to sleep last night. It makes my blood boil!!!

oh your poor dd! If the police has been involved before can't they do something like a restraining order? Or failing that a good slap around the head? (and I know not quite legal)

If it were our dd, hubby would find out who those girls are and roll up at their parents' place to have a chat... he's VERY protective ;)

Our dd is only 9 and is already at the receiving end of a bully. Not quite the same style, just a girl that constantly bothers her and is being mean to her. The teachers are sort of trying but alledgedly the other girl has some inter-personal issues and the only thing they can do is make sure they don't end up in the same class next year... they have already spoken to the mum quite a few times...

a couple of weeks ago dd came home with the imprint of the back of a tennis racket on her cheek (found out it happened to be a 'true' accident instead of malicious attack, but...) I tried talking to the mother to see if she knew exactly what happend, and well she wasn't particularly helpful... one of the comments was 'well they love to hate each other'... erhem, then bl**dy well have a chat with your child to be more careful and less aggressive and stay away from my dd, because I advised my dd to stay clear of her but she keeps following her. However said child does not get any boundaries at home... so the day she actually really hurts dd, dh is going to be over there in a flash and I almost pitty that poor woman as she's shorter than me and hubby is of quite impressive stature...

sorry for the rant, bullies get my blood boiling too :).

bright, I'd go back to the police and get a restraining order.
