Pump recommendations

My wee one is here and is in NICU. I’ll be discharged before him and have been expressing using a hospital pump so far but trying to plan ahead. What pump would you recommend for me for discharge? I’ve breastfed all my other kids but never expressed so this is a new territory for me.

thanks

Sorry to hear your little one is in NICU! I found spectra S1 beast for suction & output and mom cozy m5 for convenience when it’s not convenient to sit & pump. Whatever you do; make sure you measure your nipple and work out the flange size properly! Really makes a difference. You’ll find loads of guides online. Good luck x

What pump have you been using in NICU? For DD1, our hospital used Medela Symphony and you can actually rent them direct from Medela on a monthly basis. It was about £50 per month at the time. It was nice using one i was familiar with.

For DD2, I had spectra s1+ which is hospital grade but quite bulky and then elvie stride for convenience. But with DD2 I tried to stop pumping very soon really because it was really difficult to bf and pump with 2 DC around.

I bought these from amazon and they have a little nipple measuring tool in the box to check you are using the right size. Then you can either use the inserts or buy an official flange that is the right size for your pump. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nuliie-Inserts-Compatible-Momcozy-Bellababy/dp/B0CMPBBHMZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=FJGXGKWD5UX2&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.v5lX8a__I9-jg6aPPPISLnRRCEpZ6T31fjQnbzizhsvzcBKerQXE2OHbnL_EPCG_wWzRO3ZBwzuJn74NOR8jr7xu3PgJG0RBiPQ8yRM-c3bjoJmXTVF-ym8mv1_jQ-Bk9rk5BAqeTee2WzHVuxTnJITM-yx_eRoI_UgFnYgvRozKnc2BlmOawzmvSnmzrUmqHMl-6wy4CGonoJbEI6mLaA.-GgBYEwbPg7CBYVSYQUSL2NS2Wq8NWqTQsDVWqS3q1k&dib_tag=se&keywords=flange+inserts&qid=1754423277&sprefix=flange+inserts%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-3

I prefer spectra s1 to medela.
