Routine query?

Soon I will be attempting to pump so that my DH is able to take over some of the feeding and help towards establishing a stronger bond with our little one and to allow me a bit of shut eye.

I am concerned however that little one could up chuck or throw it all up as I've read other users have had issues with when introducing bottles and worrying I won't have enough stored up at the time to feed them myself if that happens.

It would be great to establish both forms of feeding for various reasons and so any advice would be great.

For those of you who did breast before introducing bottle as well. Is there a specific time to pump? Example if my little one is feeding from one breast, they go down to sleep for an hour, would that be the time to pump from the other to store away?

I used to pump from one breast whilst they were feeding from the other. Not sure if that's how you're supposed to do it mind but it does save time Wink

If you do it at the same time each say your body should get used to producing more milk at this time.

You probably know this already but getting your DH to do some of the feeds might not be as helpful as you think given that it will probably be down to you to pump, store the milk, wash the pump and bottles etc.

It might be better to get him to do bathtime, learn baby massage, change LO and take them out for walks after a feed?

Oh and you might be best to ask @MNHQ to move this over to the Infant Feeding section. You should get some more responses in there Wink
