Sanitising/Sterilising

Hello,

I am hoping that you can share some advice with me.

I have been exclusively breastfeeding for seven months but now want for express to use in my baby’s food.

I should have expressed long ago. I have built it up in my head and anxious about it. I have finally bought a pump, the Solo Medela and I bought the Maam steam sterilising.

I have opened both of these, only to find out that the pump advises you to boil it. It says that steam sterilisers may be effective but they can not validate this as they have not tested it and can’t confirm that there won’t be any damages.

Has anyone used this pump and sterilised it? For now I will boil it. I thought I was doing good getting a steriliser.

My baby is 6 months old, NHS guidelines are to sterilise until 1 year old.

I know I am overthinking this and probably a silly question. Just all very new to me.
