Expressing - which boob for next feed?!

Hi, first post from a first time Mum so I'm sorry if what I'm asking seems obvious (not got much of a support network to ask)

My son is 8 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. We are in the process of getting him to take a bottle from my husband in the evenings to allow me a break and for them to bond.

Expressing has been ad hoc with no schedule or logic so far to build a freezer stock. I get a good 3-4 oz from one side in about 5-10 minutes. Going forwards I'd like to express each day enough for that evening.

I'm never sure which boob to use. Baby only feeds from one side per feed.
Eg. If he last fed from the left do I express from the right then do the next feed from the left again? Or try and pump from both sides to fully empty and then follow alternate so feed from the right next?

Worried he won't get enough if I've recently pumped or that I'll get engorgement again.

It depends when you express compared to feeding and if the pump empties you as much as baby. Personally I’d express right after a feed (or same time if you can manage it) from the other side, then feed from whichever you fancy next time. Or you pick a time when he doesn’t normally feed and add in an extra (both sides) pump then, following feed chose side s as you would have without pumping. Obviously though if something isn’t working do something else!
