Spectra s1 users out there, pump not working?

I’m trying to build supply as I have to give my lo top up feeds- he has not been gaining enough weight and I feel terrible about it. He feeds for hours on end but is obviously not getting enough milk from me.

Anyhow I bought the spectra but every time I’ve used it I’ve not even collected one drop of milk. I don’t know if it’s the machine or me. I’ve watched several YouTube videos and find it’s simple enough to use ( I think I’m using it correctly) 1. turn on 2. Press wave button abd it goes on 70 3. Wait for let down then press wave button and switch to pump?

really hoping for advice as I don’t know if I need to fork out for another different pump or persevere with the spectra. How can I know if it’s the machine or me that’s the problem?

I use the haakaa but only get 30-50ml but need more for my top ups. When I was in hospital I got 25-30 ml in about 20 minutes with their medela. When I got home I bought and used an electric Lansinoh but again not even one drop so got the spectra but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!

Any advice is appreciated tia x

It comes with 28mm flanges. It might be that they are too big for you. I got milk out with them but it was a lot better when I bought some 24mm flanges.

You go on massage mode to begin with then to expression. I start at a low level, with the cycles at 54 and as I go along the cycles decrease and the vacuum level increase. If milk slows down you can go back to massage mode for a few minutes.
