Breastfeeding expressed top ups

Hi
We have a 28 day old I struggled with breastfeeding to begin with bad latch etc
Got support sorted latch she stopped falling asleep at the breast as much using compressions and switch nursing. baby is now gaining weight with use of top ups of expressed milk and should be at her birth weight when she weighed tomorrow.
I have been feeding her every 2 hours then pumping. Then my partner gives her whatever I expressed every other feed. After the bottle of top up expressed milk (we pace feed) she is distraught every time. She seems to have a lot of gas which may be answer but I'm not sure.
She is much more content after just breast. When I pump I get the same amount every time I tried fenugreek but my supply hasn't changed...
I have pcos and had gestational hypertension which has now resolved.
Any help appreciated

Well done op

Have you tried some gripe water? That can work a treat and also laying baby on back and moving legs like a bicycle to help with gas?

I'll try the gripe water thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully I can stop the bottles soon. Just not sure how to stop the top ups and to know when I have enough milk- surely I have enough if she is just taking it from bottle anyway and if all my breast milk....

Give it a go it worked great for mine. I found pumping hard and just kept baby on the breast for aslong as it took. I wonder if maybe baby need a break and have some gripe water and then try her on the breast again. It might be a case that she is a 'snacker' and just wants a little bit often. Keep going mum, if she's gaining weight then you've got enough milk. It's so hard at the beginning but baby will get into their own rhythm

Offer her the breast after the bottle? Remember breastfeeding is about more than 'just' milk - it's comfort, it helps them sleep, it's where they want to be: in mum's arms! It sounds like your supply is fine as long as the weigh in tomorrow goes well. Remember that the only indicators of supply are nappy output and weight gain, so monitor those two things and you will be fine. It's perfectly normal for babies to fuss and be constantly on the boob - my first fed every 2 hours for the first 6 months! If you feel like a 24/7 milk machine you're doing it right 😊 good luck with it all!
