If I pump breast milk how long does it stay fresh for? I know in the fridge it's 5 days but what about if I want to take a bottle out with me? How long does it stay safe for? Do I need a cool bag for it? Grin

You will definitely need a cool bag.

I have just googled it. If you want to take expressed milk out for the day, make sure it is fully cooled in the fridge first, then keep it an insulated cold bag with ice blocks for up to 8 hours.

Freshly pumped breast milk can be kept in the fridge for 4/6/8 hours, depending on which website you look at.

In the summer, I wouldn't leave it outside the fridge for long, and once a bottle has been started, it should be discarded after an hour.

Do you warm it up before giving it to baby. Xx
