Elvie breast pump review

I'm looking into buying the new Elvie breast pump- silent and fits into your bra so you can carry on with life which is very appealing! However, I have been reading lots of reviews saying that it leaks and is pretty inefficient.
Has anyone used one and had a good/ bad experience with it?
It's a lot of money so want to be sure before I invest.

I really like mine. They only leak if I bend over double wearing them - they don't leak with normal use. The only downsides are that the clip that attaches the bottles breaks easily, but they do send free replacements and they told me they are making new ones that aren't as breakable, and sometimes the blue membranes can be a bit temperamental when putting it together. Oh and the estimates of volume in app can sometimes be really inaccurate. But in terms of functionality, they work well for me and I can pump a whole feed for my little girl in about 15 mins while I'm doing other bits.

They are really expensive though - I bought them because I spent first 12 weeks pumping as DD couldn't latch and I was tethered to the pump. I'm not sure I would have bought it unless I was pretty heavily pumping.

Oh, I think some people's boobs respond better to the style of suction than others. It's quite different to most other pumps - it feels more like a baby sucking to me than other pumps but some people have reported they don't get as much milk than from traditional. I can probably get a bit more from Spectra than from Elvies but it's more of a hassle to get pumping bra on and connected etc so it balances out.

I really like mine. It’s definitely a different style of pumping - less of a milking feeling Grin

I definitely can get more milk out with my medela - but it’s a really good one (from the US). And I have oversupply so still get a good amount out from the Elvie.

The app is buggy (which is annoying as you can’t see the bottle) and it doesn’t work well for me when I’m a bit engorged BUT the convenience of being able to pump on the go has been a game changer for me especially with a toddler in tow. I’ve pumped in all sorts of odd places that just wouldn’t be possible with a traditional pump.

(Oh and mine doesn’t leak at all fwiw.)
