I recently bought a tommee tippee electric breast pump and i found it to be absolute rubbish and couldnt get more than a few drops after 20 mins on the highest setting.
I contacted Toys r us to return the item and get a refund and the women on customer service told me I couldnt just post it back but i would have to get to the nearest store to have it tested. I told her that it was hard for me to get to and she said its only three miles away! She remained completely unsympathetic when I said that it might be only three miles away but that I didnt have a car and it was a long two bus journey there and back with a 7 week old baby.
She then said that if they didnt find a fault i couldnt return or exchange the item as it was used. I said that it was faulty because I couldn't use it and she actually said to me that if the item was not faulty it was me!!!!!
I am thinking about making a complaint but have read that Toys r us have very bad customer service and it would not be worth my while.
Does anyone know how I can return the used pump and get a refund for it if the store says its not faulty?

I had this pump but I got it from mothercare. After only a few uses it developed a fault and would randomly lose all suction, the cone part also became very loose and would slide out of its housing. I took it back and it was swapped for the same one. It developed the same fault. I took it back again and insisted on a credit note instead of a replacement, I used it to buy a Medela manual pump instead and it was far superior to the Tommee Tippee one.

I'd argue the point with them.

There's no guarantee it is faulty though - some women can't pump it's no indicator of supply, but some women try and try and never get more than a few drops.

Have you tried a different pump to see if you can get anything?
