Swapping from bf to ff at 6.30pm feed - help!

I'm slowly transferring my 9wk old DS onto formula feed as I'm due to start medication next month. At the mo he feeds twice from me (4am and 6.30pm) has a bottle with breastmilk in it at 8am and the rest are formula feeds. He doesn't take a huge amount each time (between 3-4oz, HV say he should be taking 5oz) but it is increasing slowly.
He just won't take a bottle at the 6.30pm feed. I know he can do it but he prefers the comfort of the breast. I think he's getting a bit confused between the bottle and the breast as he does tend to faff about at the 6.30pm feed. But he refuses to take the bottle until he's full and so stays awake and gets grumpy.

Anyone any suggestions?

Just as an aside - did anyone else find when reducing the bfing that their hormones go bananas and they turned into a rampaging monster? Or is it just me?

What time does he feed before the 6.30pm feed and what time does he sleep. It may be that he is not hungry enough or he is too tired. Just thinking out loud.

And as for hormones, I have two kids, have not breasfed for 11 months and I am still hormonal (grin) - I think that is just motherhood!

Good luck!
