Is there an 8 week growth spurt?

my bf 8 week old has been on a feeding frenzy today, has slept a lot less than normal, and has been crying loads (usually v placid). Is this normal|?
just checked his temperature and it is fine.
Thought maybe its just a big growth spurt?
He must weigh over a stone by now - v big for his age.
Any advice would be v welcome.

Madigan - babies can ask for more feeding at any time and for any reason Growth spurts are sometimes said to occur at certain times, but there is no consistent evidence of this - maybe your baby does need to grow faster at this point, maybe she is fighting a bug, maybe she is a bit hot and bothered....no matter. If bf fixes it and it keeps her happy, then go for it

Just such a marked difference in feeding and behaviour!! But thank you for reassuring me.
