DS biting when he wants BM?

DS2 is 10 months tomorrow and I'm trying to drop his daytime BF by a year. He won't take a bottle but will drink some formula from a cup. Thing is, when he's tired and really wants BM as a comfort thing, he starts pulling at my top and biting my neck/shoulders/ arms...

I don't know whether to persist with trying to drop the feed or take it as a sign that he's not ready. I really can't remember how I did it with DS1 (only 3 years ago! ), but I don't think he did this biting thing.

How do I get him to accept the cup without any more biting?!

Give him to dh?! No seriously, at the first bite I would put him down on the floor sharply and say 'no biting'...I bet he understands. You then repeat until he understands. Also, make sure that he's sitting away from you when having that feed - perhaps put the telly on for a little bit just to keep his interest away from your arms, neck etc!

Thanks shushpenfold (great name!). That's kind of what I was trying to do, but I'm being more systematic about it now. Hopefully it will start to sink in.
