Suddenly leaking milk - AF related?

DS now 9 months, on 3 meals a day and as many milk feeds as he wants. BF has gne v well and we'll not be stopping unti he wants to. I've not had the full feeling or leakage for months, supply has been great though. This morning I started leaking badly, still leaking now but feeding well- We've not missed any feeds.

A very light AF has turned up tonight, my first since Dec 2008.I'm guessing the two are related? If so, is this going to happen every month and can someone recommend some good pads, super absorbent. Thanks

I had my first period (and one a month thereafter) when ds was about 4/5 months and still feeding all the ruddy time every three hours, so its not essential that you drop feeds to have a period.

Is there a problem with using tampons - iirc that's what I used. Sorry, MNetters - not a mooncup, mine bit me!

Ps 'Period' is fine, you're among friends!

Lol, you can tell I was tired when I wrote this, I meant breast pads, sorry! Tampons fine, have always used them. Somewhat narked at getting my period 2 days before my birthday though, marvellous timing.

Aha! I couldn't think what would be wrong with tampons!

I got some washable breast pads- partly to be a bit 'green' and partly cos they were more comfortable than the papery ones. Think they were from Boots.

I don't remember having much ongoing leakage (bf til DS was 14 months) so you might get lucky after this lot.
