My DD3 had her one year check on Friday and weighed 17lbs 12oz she was last weighed at 8 months and weighed 17lbs 10oz . I was taken aback at her little weight gain , she is breast fed only has three meals a day and two snacks . I know you shouldn't compare but she is the youngest of five and looking at the growth charts of my others she is a good 4lbs lighter and there weight gain was steady , they were all breast fed too . My health visitor was not worried as she is reaching all her milestones ie; crawling , cruising and babbling just wondered if anyone else has been in this situation and what advice you were given ???? Any advice greatly appreciated .........

She'll probably have a growth spurt in a couple of weeks. No two babies are the same and as long as you are happy she is eating well, I really wouldn't worry. I would keep an eye on it but honestly, as long as she's not wasting away, she'll be fine.

My dd is always above average for height and below average for weight, making her tall and skinny (didn't get that from me) but she worried the HV when she didn't put on any weight from 6-7 months despite me putting her on solids. But she was crawling and burning it all off.

Be aware but don't make it an issue. I'm sure she's fine - 4lbs is nothing.

It's unlikely that all of your children will be the same weight as adults, so why expect them to all be the same weight at a year?

Before you saw her weight, how did you feel she was doing? I think a mother's view on how her child is doing is more informative than some numbers on a scale.
