Left nipple collapse. How attractive. Anyone else?

Finished BF DS2 about 4 months ago. My left nipple has since sort of imploded - it looks like its folded inwards. Basically you can just see the aureola (sp) and a big slash where the nipple should be. I can't remember when it went like this - maybe a couple of months ago. Both nipples were a bit flat before but never like this

After DS1 I had a lump on the same dodgy nipple which I had checked at breast clinic, they said it was an overgrowth of tissue caused by the 'trauma' of BFing, I arranged to have it removed, it shrank by itself before the op. Breasts back to normal (if a bit saggy) before pg with DS2.

So has anyone else had this? Will it go back to normal like the dodgy nip before? TBH my boobs look bloddy awful anyway (they'll get a bit more normal won't they) and I feel a bit down about it. I'm not even old! If it stays the same (please no) will I even be able to BF another baby on that side??

You mean one of your nipples has inverted? If so you need to see you gp to make sure it's nothing sinister. I'm sure it's not but best to get it checked.

Breasts change a lot with, and after breastfeeding. I don't know what will happen with yours - but I do know that they continue to change for two years after you stop.

It sounds like the nipple on that side is inverted now? Does it come out when erect? Some mothers do breastfeed successfully with inverted nipples - it's easier if they poke out when erect.

Given that pregnancy changes nipples and breasts quite a bit anyway, and you should be expecting more changes over the next two years, it's probably best to just wait and see ...

Oh, yes, ledodgy is right, you should maybe go see the GP or the breast clinic. It's unusual, for a nipple to become inverted when it wasn't before ...

I don't think its anything sinister, will get it checked out just in case, its just with it being the same 'dodgy boob' as last time..it does come out a bit in the shower, its just when I take my clothes off at the end of the day I get a shock!

Thanks for the 2 years thing, at least there's hope it won't look like this forever. They didn't look as bad after DS1 and he was much more 'traumatic' to BF! (prem, poor latch, reflux).

So BF can't make your nipples become inverted then?
