Curious about bottle feeding- is this right?

I am just wondering if my concerns are justified or not. My friend is bottle feeding her 5 month old boy who she says is off the scales in terms of weight. He looks very big for his age. She seems to keep putting the bottle back into his mouth until he has finished the 8oz bottle she offers him.
Is this right? She panicked about him not finishing his bottle and said he wouldn't sleep through if he didn't have all of it.
I don't really agree with what she is doing but as I didn't bottle feed I don't really know if she is overfeeding him or not? It's actually none of my business but he does look very bloated and is fairly inactive.

This is why obesity is higher in bottle fed babies. Its common for mums to get baby to finish the bottle rather than take cues from the baby about when baby is finished like you would with a breast fed baby.

So he probably is having a bit more to eat than if b/f. But if he's not chucking it up then I guess it can't be loads too much.

He'll probably look less bloated once he starts crawling and is more active.

He's probably just a very hungry baby then as I don't think he's being sick. It just puzzled me why she was so obsessed with getting him to finish all of his bottles. I said that wasn't he just not that hungry some days and she said that he needed to have all his milk or he wouldn't sleep?
