BF causing bloody discharge in DD?

When I changed DD2's nappy tonight, there was blood in the wipe and I'm pretty sure it was not from her bum. She is 7 months.

I recall hormones having an effect like this in newborns, but in a 7mo? Does this mean my periods are coming back? Please say no.

sorry i am watching your thread but have no advice you could ring out of hours HV if your worried hope that helps a bit

Wouldn't have thought it had any relevance to your periods.

Think it would be worth seeking advice soonish because if it is in her urine/coming from her urinary tract it could be an infection, not sure if any implications if coming from bottom or vagina.

Am sure will be fine but probably worth checking out.

Hmmm. I thought it was simply a hormonal thing. I don't think it was urine because it wasn't on the nappy, just on her and only a spot of it.

If there's any more tomorrow I'll phone up about it. We're off on hols on Monday.

Typical, my animals always get ill just when I'm about to go on holiday!

Hope it's nothing and you have lovely hols.

Try looking in the creases at the very top of her thighs - where her thighs join to her torso. I found some blood in DD's (4 months) nappy and after much searching realised that those creases were sore - they didn't look as if they were bleeding - just red, but when i pressed a wipe against them there was a little blood.

I'm now super careful about drying them and apply sudocreme and all is well, but I went in to a total panic thinking it was something more serious...
