Am I doing this all wrong?? My avent pump...was brilliant but but it broke and have been gutted so, as a cheaper option I got a mimi Medela pump. It just doesn't work for me though. The vaccum is strong but the pumping action isn't fast enough and my breast wont react to it. Am I doing this wrong. I always used the avent on quite a high speed. Have resorted to using the avent nauelly instead but since I express three times a day this is really getting me down. Am i using the medela wrong? ......

Hello
I have this pump and I have found it to be good for me. It can take a bit of time for the milk to come though as you wait for your letdown to kick in. Can you feel that happen? Have you tried expressing with the pump at the same time as feeding from the other side? This can often help with the milk coming in better. It could be that you are stuck in a bit of a cycle of thinking it's not going to work which in turn prevents your letdown from happening, hence
the no milk...
I personally would start it on its lowest setting though as like you say the vacuum is quite strong. Build it up gradually as your breast gets used to it. Maybe that will help?
Good luck!
