I have had the occasional wine or beer and am suddenly feeling overwhelmed with guilt and worried at the same time.... most I had was 2 glasses/beers and I tried to do it after a feed, after baby went down for the night, or when husband could give a bottle... but am worried still, baby is only 3 months....am I a horrible person who has damaged my baby? just wondering if anyone else has opinions advice on this delicate subject...

Glass of wine most nights, tis fine. Safe to drive safe to feed is the general rule. You really wont do your baby any damage, plently of research out there to back this up. Try not to worry and enjoy the odd drink.

most nights

Don't be daft. You can drink. About an hour after you have consumed it is when the highest amount is in your blood but even then it is only equal to the amount of alcohol you'd find in orange juice (i.e. hardly any).

Breastfeeding whilst drunk isn't advisable, just like bathing your child whilst drunk isn't, but that is because you could make mistakes or fall asleep that's all.

the odd glass of wine or beer is not going to hurt anyone - what keeps you happy will keep your wee one happy (in moderation of course!)

I had a couple of drinks at Christmas and my baby is still alive :D In fact, she slept straight through my dinner, which I was quite impressed with... hmm

Anyway, I don't drink at the minute, but only because I'm co-sleeping. If I wasn't, there'd certainly be more wine drinking going on!

I haven't noticed any bad effects on either of my DS's if I have a drink here and there, I also enjoy a couple of cups of coffee a day as well and eat whatever.

Not noticed any increased wakefulness/sleepiness/weird behaviour or anything.

So based on my study of 2 I would tell you not to worry.

I have also been taking my anti-histamine (it is either that or stay crouched in the house all day and with a 6yo at school not really an option). Once again no visible effects.
