16wks and still cluster feeding?

DD2 is 16wks old and still cluster feeds every evening. She seems to feed ok during day (exclusively bf) but then from around 6.30pm to 9.30 - sometimes as late as 11pm - is feeding; she will fall asleep a few times, but every time I try to put her down in her cot, she'll wake within 10mins and frantically looks for milk.
During the night she usually wakes once sometime between 1am and 4am for a full feed (30/45mins), then is up 6/7am for the day.
I had a nightmare experience with DD1 (horrendous colic and me not producing enough milk) so I don't have any meaningful comparison - is it 'usual' for her to be feeding like this in the evening and is there anything I can/should be doing to get her to settle more easily?

Hi, I am not an expert and Im sure other people will be along who can offer you more advice, but I have found that my DD cluster feeds in the evenings during growth spurts.

Milk supply is often slower in the evenings so maybe this is an explanation for the really long feed?

Whe your DD wakens in cot, is she screaming?

I thought it might be growth spurt but it's been going on for a few weeks now! She doesn't usually wake screaming - starts whimpering (almost a lonely sort of cry), then gets more and more agitated. Have tried leaving her to see if she'll settle; have tried soothing her in cot; have tried picking her up but all ends up with the same result

DS did this. I gave up putting him down in a cot until we went to bed because all that to and froing was too much for me. I just let him sleep in my arms while I watched tv in the evening then if he woke up he fed some more.

From about 24 weeks I noticed that he was going longer between wakenings.

just woken up again - this time screaming from the off - so may not be back till tomorrow!

My LO is 7mo and still cluster feeds on & off in the evenings. It's shorter feeds now than they used to be though.
