You'd think I had it sussed now, but 9mo DD2 is worrying me now. Last night as she went to feed she bit me (with 2 front teeth) to which I cried out and DD2 burst into tears. She then wouldn't feed off me, or even take a bottle EBM that DH tried to give her.

She then fed okish in the morning and during today, although not as long as "normal". Tonight however, she gave a few sucks, and then refused to feed again. - Arch back, pushing me away again. (She only bfs 3-4 times a day.)

Normally she loves to feed and I'm starting to panic that she's not interested anymore/I've spooked her. Selfish I know, but I'm not ready to stop bf!! I never bf DD1 this long and all my friends had stopped by now too. So, I'm after someone to tell me it will be ok and that it will all be back to normal in a while. (Crossed finger icon)

It probably freaked her out a bit and now she has associated her drinking (even from a bottle) with you crying out.

Maybe try lots of smiles and gentle talking and as many positive vibes as you can give off while trying to get her attached? Someone with a better idea will be along in a minute!

My DTs after a really rocky bf start (slow gain, thrush, mastitis) I really love bf now but mine are now thumping great 9 monthers who only want 2 feeds a day! I am to think of a time when they won't want to bf any more.

She'll relax again soon - keep offering, be very relaxed, let her find her own way.

Tiny bit of a nursing strike maybe? I'm sure she'll come back to it. Just being gentle with her, offering regularly but not forcing it, should sort her out.

And it's not selfish not to want to stop. My DD is 18 months (and prob last baby), I was feeding her today fairly frequently as she is a bit poorly and it was lovely to be cutched up with her

It could just be teething and sucking is painful for her. Is she teething? Could you try giving her a dose of pain killer to see if it makes a difference?

Sure it'll get back to normal in a day or two.

Don't rush to stop bf. I finished with my final DC when she was 10 months and I wish I was still doing it now (15mths). Its such a lovely bonding time when they're nursing from you. Enjoy! I'm jealous!

Sounds like a partial nursing strike - look here for some excellent tips

DD did this after I yelled when she bit me. It took a day or two and she was back to normal. I'm sure it will be the same for you.
