Hyperactive left boob keeps getting engorged

My left boob seems to "refill" much faster than the right. It is also only my left boob that has the ability to spray milk across the room when 7w dd pops off. In the last day or so my left boob keeps getting painfully engorged. Since I've noticed this I have been careful about always offering alternate boobs, rather than draining down my left, as I don't want to encourage more milk production! Is this the best way to handle this issue - and when - if ever- will it settle down?

Yes, if one boob fills faster and more than the other, the chances are because it's because your DD is feeding more on that side.
The best thing you can do is to even up her feeding so that it is the same on both sides.
Within a few days, you should find that your body catches on and that your two sides even out.
