I don't know what to do...

Hi All,
Not sure if you can help....

I get so hung up about this, so it does my head in!

Basically my baby has been having 6 bottles in 24 hours of 210mls (about 8oz) for quite a number of weeks now.

She hasn't been going through the night particulary, so these bottles have been spread out roughly every 4 hours.

However, when she does sleep through, like this morning, I feed her, but then she would be having 5 bottles a day which would be less. So what I am asking is....

Is it better to feed her 5 bigger bottles every 4 hours through the day, or the usual 210mls every 3 hours? She will be starting solids soon (another thing for me to get confused about!) so in theory the bottles should be reducing over time.

Hope you can help....knowing what to do with feeding drives me mad!!!

Thank you. x

I'm not sure, but I'm bumping this for you in the hope that someone with more bottle feeding knowledge replies.

What age is your DD?

Personally I would stick to the 4 hourly feeding but look to increase the amounts in some of the bottles.

Once she starts solids the amounts will decrease. Trying to feed her 3 hourly if she is not hungry will reduce the amount she will eat over a 24 hour period.
